Philippine Airlines has signed a Letter of Intent with Bombardier to acquire up to 12 Q400 aircraft. Bombardiers Dash 8/Q Series turboprops and CRJ Series regional jets have made significant advances in the Asia Pacific region where approximately 190 aircraft - including more than 165 Dash8/Q Series turboprops - are in service with, or ordered by, over 25 customers and operators.

Bombardier has finalized a firm purchase agreement with Philippine Airlines for five Q400 aircraft with purchase rights on an additional seven. Based on the list price of the Q400 aircraft, the firm order is valued at approximately US$165 million and could increase to US$401 million, should Philippine Airlines exercise all its purchase rights.
12. Philippine Airlines Finalises Order for Six Airbus A350-900s
Philippine Airlines has finalised a purchase agreement with Airbus covering the firm order of six A350-900s, plus six options. The A350 XWB will become the flagship of PALs future long haul fleet and will be configured with a premium three class layout. The airline will operate the aircraft on non-stop flights to the US, as well as on services to new destinations in Europe.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350 XWB at a special event in Toulouse, France. Philippine Airlines has ordered six A350-900s, which will be primarily operated on non-stop services to Europe and North America. These will include the carriers longest route to New York, which the A350-900 can operate non-stop in both directions, all year round.

The A350-900, which will have a three-class configuration (Business Class, Premium Economy and Regular Economy), is capable of flying non-stop from Manila to New York on a full load.

Philippine Airlines made history earlier this week operating, its first ultra-long polar flight from Toronto, Canada nonstop to Manila - the first-ever crossing of the Polar region by a Filipino airline. PAL flight PR119 took off from Toronto's Pearson International Airport at 00:53 on 17 December, arriving Manila the next day at 06:10.
