1. Delta’s First Airbus A220-100 Completes Maiden Flight
Delta Air Lines’ first Airbus A220-100 has completed its maiden flight. The 173-minute flight took place a few days after the aircraft rolled out of the paint shop. The aircraft will now continue with pre-delivery testing and assembly, as elements of its interior come together at the A220 assembly line.
2. Airbus Increases Range of A220-100 and A220-300 Aircraft
The maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of the A220 aircraft will increase by 2,268 kg (2.3 metric tonnes), increasing the respective maximum range capabilities to 3,350 nm for the A220-300 and 3,400 nm for the A220-100, some 450 nm more than currently advertised.
3. Airbus Corporate Jets Adds Enhanced A220-100 to Portfolio
Airbus has confirmed that it is creating a corporate jet based on the A220-100. The ACJ TwoTwenty will have an increased range enabling the aircraft to fly up to 5,650 nm/10,500 km (over 12 flight hours), directly connecting city pairs like London and Los Angeles, Moscow and Jakarta, Tokyo and Dubai as well as Beijing and Melbourne.
4. Delta Opens Airbus A220-100 Ticket Sales
Travellers can now buy tickets on Delta's brand new Airbus A220-100 aircraft. The A220 (formerly the Bombardier C Series) is the airline's latest investment in a fleet modernization program to replace 20% of older, less-efficient aircraft by 2020. Delta will be only the fourth airline in the world, after airBaltic, Korean Air and SWISS, to operate the A220.

8. Airbus Delivers its 12,000th Aircraft!
Airbus has celebrated delivery of its 12,000th aircraft, a very special moment in the 50-year history of the European aircraft manufacturer. The aircraft, an Airbus A220-100, was assembled in Mirabel, Canada and handed over to U.S.-based Delta Air Lines.
