209. GHM Terminates Management of Yangon’s Strand Hotel
GHM has confirmed that its management contract for The Strand in Yangon, Myanmar, has been terminated. Strand Hotel International (SHI), owners of the 112-year-old property, has decided to take on management of the hotel locally. GHM has managed The Strand since September of 1999.

Korean Air is to launch nonstop flights between Seoul Incheon and Yangon, the largest city and the center for trade, industry, entertainment and tourism in Myanmar, from 13 September 2012. Korean Air’s new service to Yangon will be operated by Boeing 737-800 aircraft with Boeing Sky interior seating 138 passengers.

Bangkok Airways has unveiled its plans for 2016. The airline said it would concentrate on countries in South East Asia and North Asia such as Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos and China. Bangkok Airways also said it would appoint General Sales Agents (GSA) in countries in Latin America, South Africa and Greece.

Bangkok Airways has temporarily increased flights between Bangkok – Naypyidaw in Myanmar. The additional flights will increase the airline’s current frequency from 5 weekly flights to a daily flight until 30 May 2014.

216. Vietnam Airlines to Suspend ALL International Flights
Vietnam Airlines has confirmed that it will temporarily suspend all international flights within its network until 30 April 2020. Flights to/from Southeast Asian countries, including Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar will not operate from 21 March, while flights to/from the UK and Japan will be suspended from 23 of March.
