161. IHG Sells Hotel Indigo San Diego for US$55.5m
InterContinental Hotels Group has sold the 210-room Hotel Indigo San Diego to Chesapeake (Chesapeake Lodging Trust) for US$55.5 million in cash. IHG will continue to manage the hotel under a long-term management agreement.
162. New World Signs Purchase and Sale Agreement to Acquire Rosewood Hotels & Resorts
Hong Kong-based New World Hospitality hotel management company has signed a purchase and sale agreement to acquire Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, L.L.C., a privately held ultra-luxury hotel management company based in Dallas, Texas, USA, from current owners Rosewood Corp. and Maritz, Wolff & Co.
163. GECAS Orders 15 ATR 72-600
GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing and financing arm of General Electric, has ordered 15 ATR 72-600s, plus 15 options. The deal is valued at approximately US$680 million at list prices, including options. This is a first-time ATR order for GECAS.
164. Saudi Arabian Airlines Orders More A330-300s
Saudi Arabian Airlines, Saudi Arabias national airline, has placed a firm order for four additional Airbus A330-300 aircraft in addition to the eight ordered in July 2008, taking the total order for the type to 12. Saudi Arabian Airlines placed its first order with Airbus in over 30 years in 2007 for 22 A320 Family aircraft and later placed an order for eight A330s.
165. Boeing Signs Orders and Commitments for 17 747-8s
Boeing has said it has received orders and commitments for 17 747-8 Intercontinentals. Placed by two, as yet, undisclosed customers, the combined deals are valued at $5.4 billion at list prices. One carrier has committed to 15 of the new passenger version of the 747-8 while another carrier placed an order for two.
166. Qatar Airways Orders Six Boeing 777-300ERs
Qatar Airways has ordered six Boeing 777 aircraft valued at US$1.7 billion at list prices. The agreement was signed by Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker and Boeing Commercial President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Albaugh.
167. Etihad Airways Supports Pakistan Special Olympics Team
Over 7,500 Special Olympics athletes hailing from 185 nations will compete in 22 Olympic sporting events from June 25 - July 9 at this years games. Comprising more than 89 members from across Pakistan, the Pakistan Special Olympics team will be travelling from Lahore and Islamabad to Greece with Etihad Airways.
168. ALC Signs MOU for 50 Airbus A320neo Family Aircraft
Air Lease Corporation (ALC), the Los Angeles-based aircraft leasing company signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the 49th Le Bourget Airshow for 50 A320neo Family aircraft including 14 options. ALC also announced orders for the acquisition of eleven A330 Family aircraft and one A321.
