75. Rolls-Royce Gifts Trent 900 Engine to Emirates Engineering
Emirates Engineering apprentices and personnel can now familiarise themselves first-hand with the mechanics and operations of the Rolls-Royce Trent 900 Engine. The engine was gifted to Emirates Engineering by Rolls-Royce during the Dubai Air Show, and comes almost a year before the Trent 900 will be put into regular passenger service on 50 of Emirates’ A380s.
76. Vietjet to Launch Four Domestic Routes
Vietjet is about to launch the following four new domestic routes: Nha Trang to Hai Phong, Vinh to Buon Ma Thuot, Hanoi to Chu Lai and Hai Phong to Cam Ranh. The Nha Trang – Hai Phong route will debut on 19 November 2015, and will operate five times per week on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The flight time is 1 hour and 45 minutes.
77. V Air to Launch Flights to Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka
V Air is to increase flights to Japan with the launch of flights between Taipei and Nagoya, Taipei and Osaka as well as between Taipei and Fukuoka. To celebrate the new routes, the airline is offering a special introductory fare from TWD333/JPY 1,350 (one-way, taxes excluded). 78. Hong Kong Airlines Launches Krabi Flights
Hong Kong Airlines has launched daily flights between Hong Kong and Krabi, Thailand. Hong Kong Airlines route network currently covers almost 30 cities across the Asia Pacific region and with the launch of the Krabi service, complemented by the existing six daily flights to Bangkok, Hong Kong Airlines now operates a total of 49 weekly flights between Hong Kong and Thailand.
79. KLM Takes Delivery of First Boeing 787 Dreamliner
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has taken delivery of its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. KLM acquired the airplane through leasing company AerCap. The 787-9 complements and extends the 787 family. With the fuselage stretched by 6 meters (20 feet) over the 787-8, the 787-9 can fly up to 20% more passengers and 23% more cargo.
