According to Pegasus Solutions, online leisure hotel bookings in January 2014 achieved double-digit growth over nearly every year back to 2007 globally, with the exception of 2013. According to data from STR, the U.S. hotel industry reported positive results in the three key performance metrics during February 2014. Overall, the U.S. hotel industry’s occupancy was up 3.3% to 60.3%, ADR rose 3.9% to US$111.94, and RevPAR increased 7.3% to US$67.49.
174. June 2014 Performance of Hotels in Europe
According to data compiled by STR Global, the European hotel industry posted mixed results in year-on-year metrics when reported in U.S. dollars, Euros and Great British Pounds for June 2014. Three markets experienced RevPAR growth of more than 10.0%: Athens (+31.1% to EUR108.10); Copenhagen (+23.5% to EUR128.57); and Edinburgh (+10.3% to EUR103.95).
