57. Boeing to Establish Commercial Crew Program Office in Florida
Boeing is planning to consolidate its Commercial Crew program office, manufacturing and operations at the Kennedy Space Center(KSC). Boeing, in partnership with Space Florida, has an arrangement to use the Orbiter Processing Facility-3 (OPF-3) to manufacture, assemble, and test the company’s Crew Space Transportation (CST)-100 spacecraft.
58. Qatar Airways to Increase Flights to Iran; Launch Isfahan Service
Qatar Airways is to increase capacity across its network in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and will launch daily scheduled flights to a fourth city – the central Iranian city of Isfahan. An additional 31 flights each week will be operated by the Doha-based airline between the State of Qatar and Iran, representing an 150% increase in overall frequency.

60. IATA Reports September 2011 Airline Traffic
IATA member traffic results for September 2011 show diverging trends for cargo and passenger traffic. Passenger traffic was 5.6% higher than the same month last year and stronger than the 4.6% year-on-year growth recorded in August. Members of Bangkok Airways’ FlyerBonus programme can now earn and redeem points when flying on eligible subclasses with Cathay Pacific and Dragonair. Similarly, members of Marco Polo Club and Asia Miles can earn and redeem Asia Miles when travelling on all eligible subclasses with Bangkok Airways.
62. Vietnam Airlines’ First A350 XWB Takes to the Sky
The first A350 XWB for Vietnam Airlines has completed its first flight bearing the airline’s distinctive blue and gold lotus livery. The aircraft will now enter the final phase of production, including cabin completion, as well as further ground and flight tests. The aircraft, which will be leased from AerCap, is scheduled for delivery in the middle of the year.
63. Korean Air Expands Codeshare with Air France and Alitalia
Korean Air has expanded its existing codeshare agreements with fellow SkyTeam members, Air France and Alitalia. From the beginning of this month, the Air France codeshare agreement has been expanded to include two French domestic destinations and eight international destinations.
64. Akaryn Sells Samui Hotel to Outrigger
Akaryn Hospitality Management Services (AHMS), the Bangkok-based owner and operator of Akaryn Samui, has sold the property to Outrigger Hotels & Resorts, a global group founded in Hawaii. The Akaryn Samui, now the Outrigger Koh Samui Beach Resort, is located on Bophut Beach.
