19. SilkAir to Launch Hangzhou Flights
SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, will soon begin flights to its eighth destination in China. Subject to applicable approvals, SilkAir will operate services to Hangzhou four times a week from 27 June 2014. The new service will be operated using the airline’s Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, featuring both Business and Economy Class cabins.
20. SilkAir to Codeshare with Lao Airlines
SilkAir flights will operate in a circular routing and will depart from Singapore for Vientiane, followed by Luang Prabang, before heading back to Singapore. Under the agreement which takes effect on 1 September 2016 (subject to regulatory approval), SilkAir will add its ‘MI’ designator code to selected Lao Airlines-operated flights between Singapore, Vientiane and Luang Prabang.

22. SilkAir Takes Delivery of First Boeing 737-800
SilkAir has taken delivery of its first Next-Generation Boeing 737-800. The delivery also marks the start of the Singapore-based airline’s transition to an all-Boeing fleet. Over the coming years, Boeing will deliver a total of 23 737-800s and 31 737 MAX 8s to SilkAir.
