161. Hotels in Asia Pacific Report May 2020 Decrease in ADR, OR and RevPAR
According to data from STR, the Asia Pacific hotel industry continued to report monthly lows in the three key performance metrics for May 2020. In U.S. dollar constant currency, May 2020 vs. May 2019, OR was down -47.3% to 35.8%, ADR decreased -40.2% to US$55.93 and RevPAR plummeted -68.5% to US$20.04.
162. August 2014 Performance of Hotels in Asia; Bangkok RevPAR Down 14.3%
According to data compiled by STR Global, hotels in the Asia Pacific region experienced mostly positive results during August 2014 when reported in U.S. dollars. In August 2014, the region’s occupancy rose 1.1% to 72.6%; ADR remained virtually flat, rising 0.3% to US$116.54 while RevPAR was up 1.4% to US$84.63.

The region’s occupancy ended the month with a 0.7% increase to 68.5%, ADR dropped 5.9% to US$118.94, and RevPAR was down 5.2% to US$81.45. Year-to-date September 2013, the region’s occupancy was down 0.3% to 67.5%; its ADR dropped 3.8% to US$121.99; and its RevPAR decreased 4.1% to US$82.29.

According to STR, the Canadian hotel industry reported positive year-on-year results in the three key performance metrics during 2018. When compared with 2017, hotels in Canada enjoyed an average Occupancy increase of 1.0% to 66.3%, ADR rose 4.3% to CAD163.40 and RevPAR jumped +5.3% to CAD108.39.
165. Hotels in Mexico Report Negative ADR, OR and RevPAR for 2018
According to data from STR, Mexico’s hotel industry reported mixed performance results during 2018. When compared with 2017 Occupancy rates were down -1.3% to 63.1%, ADR dipped -0.6% to MXN2,300.04 and RevPAR fell -1.9% to MXN1,450.53.
166. Hotels in Canada Report Positive Q3 2015 ADR, OR and RevPAR
In year-on-year results, the Canadian hotel industry’s occupancy increased 0.2% to 76.6%; ADR was up 6.1% to CAD$154.95; and RevPAR increased 6.9% to CAD$113.76. Among the provinces, Prince Edward Island reported the largest increase in occupancy, up 7.5% to 89.6%. Nova Scotia followed with a 6.2% increase to 81.9%.

According to data compiled by STR Global, hotels in the Asia Pacific region experienced mixed results in the three key performance metrics during December 2013 when reported in U.S. dollars. The region’s occupancy for December remained flat at 66.3%; ADR dropped 3.7% to US$125.91; and RevPAR was down 3.7% to US$83.46.
168. Positive March 2015 Results for Hotels in Americas; Boston RevPAR Up 20.7%
Compared to March 2014, the Americas region reported a 2.2% increase in occupancy to 66.6%, a 4.1% increase in ADR to US$122.35 and a 6.3% increase in RevPAR to US$81.44. Among the key markets in the region, São Paulo, Brazil, reported the largest occupancy increase, up 11.1% to 69.2%. Boston, Massachusetts, followed with a 9.3% occupancy increase to 75.2%.
