According to data compiled by STR Global, year-on-year RevPAR in South America for year-to-date August 2011 has increased by 26.8% to US$95, mainly due to increases in ADR which is up 21% to US$143. STR Global recently launched market reports for Lima, Caracas, Montevideo and Quito.
178. AirAsia to Increase Flights to Singapore, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and Miri
AirAsia is enhancing its connectivity from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and Miri by introducing additional flight frequencies to these destinations. With the new additional flight frequencies, flights between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore has been increased from 11x daily to 12x daily starting 30 October 2011, and then 13x daily from 15 December 2011.

Finnair is to launch direct flights between Helsinki and Dubrovnik, located at the southern tip of Croatia, in April 2012. A quota of seats on the scheduled flight will be reserved for Aurinkomatkat-Suntours. The route will be flown three times per week in the summer season 2 April - 10 October 2012.

182. Etihad Airways to Codeshare with Vietnam Airlines
Etihad Airways has signed a codeshare agreement with Vietnam Airlines. The deal takes Etihad’s total number of codeshare partners to 33. Passengers on both airlines will be able to take advantage of the agreement from 30 October 2011.
183. PAL Back On Line
Philippine Airlines is back on line having deployed two US-bound flights, three regional and two domestic flights on Tuesday, with many more on Wednesday. The flight deployment came hours after striking members of the PAL Employees Association (PALEA) vacated their posts, thereby allowing PAL volunteers to take over their functions.
