Novikov joins Kumertau from DBA Engineering, a United Engine Corporation Company, where he held the position of deputy CEO.

The Sikorsky-Boeing SB1 DEFIANT helicopter completed its first flight on Thursday at Sikorsky’s West Palm Beach, Fla., site. The aircraft, developed by Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company, and Boeing, will help inform the next generation of military helicopters as part of the U.S. Army’s Future Vertical Lift program.

Airbus Helicopters has secured an additional order of one H225 helicopter from the Japan Coast Guard (JCG), bringing JCG’s H225 fleet to ten units. JCG currently operates three AS332s and five H225s, both from the Super Puma family. With this new order, the customer’s Super Puma fleet will grow to 13 units by March 2021, becoming the largest Super Puma operator in Japan.

Airbus deployed the first serial aircraft to Rovaniemi in Lapland in February where the test team benefited from a period of exceptionally low temperatures down to -37°C (-35°F).
