65. Hong Kong Int. Airport Welcomes Over 47 Million Passengers in First 8 Months of 2016
In the first eight months of 2016, Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) welcomed 47.7 million passengers and recorded 274,765 flight movements, marking year-on-year increases of 4.2% and 2.2% respectively. Cargo throughput at HKIA recorded a mild growth of 0.5%, reaching 2.84 million tonnes, compared to the same period last year.

Japan welcomed 2.29 million foreign visitors in July 2016, 19.7% higher than in July 2015 and the highest ever record for not only July, but for any single month. The previous record for the month was set in July 2015 when 1,918,000 foreigners visited Japan. The previous largest number of visitors in a single month was set in April 2016 with 2,082,000 foreign arrivals.
