Air New Zealand has teamed up with Zenith Tecnica to investigate 3D printed metal parts for aircraft and tools. The North Shore-based, New Zealand-owned and operated company specialises in the design and manufacture of 3D printed titanium and other metals using a technology called electron beam melting (EBM). The EBM machines are manufactured by Arcam EBM, a GE Additive company.

The type certification covers the aircraft powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines.
32. Qazaq Air Takes Delivery of Two Bombardier Q400 Aircraft
Qazaq Air, a Kazakhstan-based airline owned by the Samruk-Kazyna Sovereign Welfare Fund, has taken delivery of two Bombardier Q400 aircraft. The aircraft were ordered in 2017 following Qazaq Air’s launch of domestic services in Kazakhstan in July 2015 using three leased Q400 aircraft.
