45. Singapore Airlines Orders Eight Boeing 777-300ERs
Singapore Airlines has ordered eight Boeing 777-300 Extended Range (ER) airplanes. The Singapore Airlines order is valued at $2.4 billion at Boeing current list prices. The order was first announced on 10 August 2011 but attributed on Boeing's Orders & Deliveries website to an unidentified customer.
46. Airbus to Increase Production of A320 Family Aircraft
Airbus has confirmed it will increase the production rate of its popular A320 Family of single-aisle aircraft to 42 aircraft per month in the fourth quarter of 2012. Currently Airbus produces 36 A320 Family aircraft each month, a production rate that will steadily rise to 38 in August 2011 and to 40 in the first quarter of 2012.

InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed Angela Brav as head for its new European division, and unveiled a regional realignment which combines the Middle East and Africa with Asia Australasia, allowing two similar businesses to leverage scale in key developing markets. In order to strengthen the SAS Group's long term position in Finland and improve the profitability in Blue1, the group has decided to phase out the remaining 5 Avro RJ-85 aircraft and streamline to Boeing 717. The phase out of the Avro fleet is expected to start in August 2011 and will result in maximum 85 redundancies within Blue1.
