HONG
KONG A HONEYMOON HAVEN FOR NEWLYWEDS
Sixteen
couples who have come from Shanghai to Hong Kong for a special
five-day tour 28 October attended a grand wedding ceremony at the
Golden Bauhinia Plaza outside the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition
Centre in Wan Chai.
The
newlyweds have joined the “Rose Wedding Package Tour” organised by
the Hong Kong Tourist Association (HKTA) and Shanghai
Municipality Luwan District Tourism Administrative Office.
The tour highlights to prospective Mainland brides and grooms
all the excitement and romance that the City of Life has to offer.
The
“Rose Wedding” programme — now in its third year — was
launched by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government Tourism
Administrative Commission and the Shanghai Luwan District Government
and has become a trendy event for young lovers from Mainland China’s
second largest city and one Hong Kong most important tourism markets.
This year, for the first time, “Rose Wedding” couples flew
to Hong Kong for the time of their lives.
Under
the HKTA’s arrangements, the 16 couples attended a spectacular
afternoon wedding ceremony at the Golden Bauhinia Plaza.
The radiant brides posed proudly in western-style gowns
alongside their new husbands, against a panoramic harbour backdrop. A grand banquet will be held this evening at the
Concourse Hotel in Kowloon to allow friends and relatives to share
their joy.
The
five-day itinerary provides plenty of opportunities for these young
lovers to experience the romantic side of the City of Life, pledging
their devotion in the moonlight at The Peak or during a cruise the
picturesque Victoria Harbour. They
will also enjoy a visit to Ocean Park, Wong Tai Temple, Hong Kong Park
and get the chance to take pictures by the Tsing Ma Bridge, the
world’s longest road and rail suspension bridge.
