3. Making a Difference: Korean Air Plants Trees in Mongolia
Korean Air has been volunteering for 14 consecutive years to plant trees in Mongolia, and this year is no different. From 15 to 26 May, more than 200 Korean Air employees will be cooperating with 600 local residents to plant trees in Mongolia. This activity is part of Korean Air’s ‘Global Planting Project’ which aims to prevent desertification of the city and save the environment.

In keeping with its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), a team of seventeen staff from the luxury 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai hotel planted 137 trees at Baan Tom Thai Dam in commemoration of World Environment Day on 5 June. Deforestation in the area has led to a shortage of water and challenges in agriculture.

Well adapted to forest life, the clouded leopard has an exceptionally long tail – as long as its body - for balancing on trees. Their flexible ankles allow them to run down trees headfirst. Clouded leopards also have the longest canines of any feline, in proportion to their body size.

Korean Air Earns Mongolian Environmental Excellence Medal. Korean Air has been awarded the Environmental Excellence Medal by the government of Mongolia thanks to a project which will see the airline plant thousands of trees to help prevent severe desertification in Mongolia.
