The Airbus A319neo powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines has achieved joint Type Certification from both the US FAA and European EASA airworthiness authorities. All three aircraft models – the A319neo, A320neo and A321neo – are now certified by the international authorities to operate with the CFM LEAP-1A engine option.

THAI Smile, the new light premium regional sub-brand of Thai Airways International, has taken delivery of its first aircraft, an Airbus A320. Seating 174 passengers, the aircraft are powered by IAE V2527-A5 engines. The Bangkok-based carrier will start regional operations on 7th July with daily flights to Macau, before flying domestically to Krabi, Chiang Mai, Surat Thani and Phuke

The assembly of Airbus’ first A320neo has been completed following painting of the aircraft and the mounting of Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM engines. MSN6101, which will be the first A320neo to fly, will soon start its ground tests to prepare for first flight.

Japan Airlines has postponed the launch of its nonstop flights between Tokyo (Narita) and Helsinki originally scheduled for 25 February 2013. The change has been made because of necessary adjustments to JAL's international routes utilizing the Boeing 787 aircraft, which have been grounded since 16 January 2013.
