InterContinental Hotels Group has signed a management agreement M.I.K Corporation for a 300-room Crowne Plaza hotel on the island of Phu Quoc in Vietnam. Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay will be IHG's third Crowne Plaza hotel in Vietnam, joining Crowne Plaza West Hanoi and Crowne Plaza Danang.

According to the May 2015 STR Global Construction Pipeline Report, there are 2,388 hotels totalling 556,592 rooms Under Contract in the Asia Pacific region. This represents a 6.8% increase in the number of rooms Under Contract compared with May 2014, and a 1.3% year-on-year decrease in rooms under construction.

Accor will expand its portfolio of ibis Styles hotels in Asia later this year, with the opening of the new ibis Styles Macpherson hotel in Singapore.
