17. Emirates to Launch Daily Chicago Flights
Emirates has confirmed it will launch a daily service to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, Terminal 5 from 5 August 2014. The service will be operated by a Boeing 777-200LR powered by GE90 engines. Chicago will become the airline’s ninth gateway in the USA, following soon after the commencement of its services to Boston, Massachusetts on 10 March of this year.

The airline is also to launch a second daily service between London Heathrow and Washington for the summer season from 24 April 2007.
21. Emirates to Increase Chicago Capacity
Emirates will increase passenger capacity on its Chicago route when it switches from Boeing 777-200LR currently operating the route, to a larger Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The change will take place on 1 May 2015. Emirates launched its Chicago service on 5 August 2014. Less than a year later, the route has carried 66,000 passengers and 3,410 tonnes of cargo to date.
22. Swissôtel Chicago Completes US$10 million Renovation
The Four Diamond Swissôtel Chicago has completed the US$10 million renovation of its lobby/bar and classic meeting space. Construction began in December 2011. Inspired by the work of the building’s original architect, Harry Weese, Swissôtel Chicago’s renovated lobby now features a modern design with natural elements and an earth tone palette.
23. Stephen Wancha Returns to Four Seasons Hotel Chicago as GM
The Four Seasons Hotel Chicago has appointed Stephen Wancha as General Manager. Stephen, who was most recently Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, is only the fourth General Manager in the 30-year history of Four Seasons in Chicago.
