Boeing has received a $139.8 million contract to provide four MH-47G Block II Chinook helicopters to the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command. These helicopters mark the start of a Block II production run expected to extend into the late 2020s.

Boeing recently delivered the seventh CH-47F Chinook to the Australian Army, three weeks ahead of schedule. The CH-47F Chinook will support the modernization of Australia’s cargo helicopter fleet and eventually replace six older CH-47D Chinooks. The seven advanced Chinooks were ordered as part of a U.S. Government Foreign Military Sales agreement with Australia in 2012.
12. Boeing Signs $3.4 Billion Contract for 268 AH-64E Apache Helicopters
The U.S. government has signed a five-year, $3.4 billion contract with Boeing through which the army, and a customer outside the U.S., will acquire the latest Apache attack helicopter. This is the first multi-year agreement for the Apache “E” variant. The Army will receive 244 remanufactured Apaches while 24 new ones will go to the international customer.

15. Lockheed Martin Adds Colour to Apache Helicopter Cockpit
The U.S. Army has awarded Lockheed Martin an US$54.3 million contract to upgrade the Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (M-TADS/PNVS) on the AH-64E Apache helicopter, bringing colour to the cockpit for the first time. Under this contract, Lockheed Martin will produce 35 M-DSA kits and spares for the U.S. Army and the Qatar Emiri Air Force.
