9. Qatar Airways Takes Delivery of 53rd Airbus A350 Aircraft

11. A350 XWB’s Trent XWB Engine Achieves EASA Type Certification
The Airbus A350 XWB programme has achieved an important milestone with the European Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) award of the Engine Type Certification of the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB turbofan. This certification covers Trent XWB engines which will power the A350-800 and A350-900 variants. A higher thrust version of the Trent XWB is currently under development for the A350-1000.
12. Cathay Pacific to Add Airbus A350-1000 to Fleet
Cathay Pacific has said it intends to add the A350-1000 to its future A350 XWB fleet, with an agreement to place a new order for 10 aircraft. In addition, the Hong Kong-based airline will convert 16 of its existing orders for the A350-900 to the larger A350-1000.

Afriqiyah Airways has signed a new firm order with Airbus for four A350-900s. The carrier has also converted its original order for six A350-800s into six of the larger A350-900 model. This brings Afriqiyah’s total A350 XWBs on order to ten A350-900s.
