Japan Airlines (JAL) will deploy a specially decorated aircraft on select domestic routes from 27 May 2012 to show support for the Japanese national team representing the country at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games to be held in London this year from 27 July through 12 August 2012.

Air Astana is to increase the number of flights it operates between Kazakhstan and Urumqi in Western China. Flights between Almaty and Urumqi will increase from three times a week to daily from 1 August 2012, while flights between Astana and Urumqi will increase from twice weekly to four times per week from 17 September 2012.

According to data compiled by STR Global, hotels in the Asia Pacific region experienced mixed results in the three key performance metrics during August 2013 when compared with August 2012 and reported in U.S. dollars. The region’s occupancy ended the month with a 3.0% increase to 71.8%, ADR dropped 5.3% to US$119.88, and RevPAR was down 2.5% to US$86.09.
53. AirAsia Japan to Launch Flights to Sapporo, Fukuoka and Okinawa
AirAsia Japan, the newest low-cost carrier (LCC) based at Narita International Airport, is set to launch operations on domestic routes with daily flights to Fukuoka, Okinawa and Sapporo starting 1 August 2012. To celebrate, the low cost airline has launched a promotion with 10,000 seats from HK$0.50 (¥5) up for grabs.

Japan Airlines is to add its domestic JAL First Class service on a portion of daily flights between Tokyo, Haneda and Okinawa, Naha from 1 August 2012. Reservations and sales begin tomorrow, 1 June 2012. JAL already offers First Class service on routes between Haneda and Sapporo, Fukuoka and Osaka.
