Alliance Airlines slashes summer fares between Rockhampton and Brisbane (Australia)

Travel News Asia 9 December 2002

Alliance Airlines has delivered an early Christmas present, announcing special one-way fares of just $79 for travel in either direction between Rockhampton and Brisbane during the summer.

The special fares - which include all taxes, charges and levies - are available for sale until 5 January 2003, and are valid for travel between 26 December and 28 February.

"Summer is traditionally an off-peak period for the airline industry, and provides a great opportunity to stimulate leisure travel with very attractive air fares," said Alliance Airlines Managing Director Mr Scott McMillan.

"Alliance Airlines is committed to innovation and affordable service in the markets to which it flies," said Mr McMillan.

"Since August, when we brought competition to the Rockhampton - Brisbane route, we have introduced two-class service, spacious aircraft cabins, affordable air fares and minimal booking conditions, and the air fares we have announced today continue with that practice."

Brisbane-based Alliance operates 12 jet flights per week on the Rockhampton - Brisbane route, using 91-seat Fokker 100 twinjets.

Alliance has also introduced an additional service on weekdays to complement the Jet operation using a 30-seat Embraer Brasilia turboprop aircraft.

Discounted summer seats are limited at these prices, and apply on selected flights. Some conditions apply.
