Emirates To Bring The World To The Dubai Summer Surprises 2002

7 June 2002

Emirates is once again supporting the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) shopping and entertainment extravaganza as key sponsor and official airline with a range of unbeatable holiday packages which offer three nights from as little as US$25 per person per night sharing accommodation.

In addition, the airline will support this year's DSS - the fifth to be held - with a comprehensive promotional campaign including advertising, leaflets and posters - and by flying the world with decals of the official logo on all its aircraft.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates' Commercial Operations Director, said: "We intend to make this year's DSS the best ever by bringing in more passengers than before to Dubai. The packages can be enjoyed by the whole family and represent tremendous value for money."

Emirates will promote Dubai Summer Surprises, aimed at making the emirate a year-round destination, across its rapidly growing network of 58  destinations in 41 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, West Asia,  the Pacific Rim and Australia.

Passengers buying the packages will enjoy meet and assist at Dubai International  Airport by Arabian Adventures, the airline's wholly-owned destination management company; transfers between airport and hotel; all taxes and service charges; Emirates Holidays 24-hour emergency assistance; and a booklet of vouchers offering discounts at shops, dining and entertainment outlets.

The packages are available immediately worldwide; they can be combined with all fares; they are not restricted to any class of travel; they can be taken at any time between June 20 and August 30 inclusive; and the offer is also  available with Emirates codeshare flights. Visas can be obtained via the Emirates Commercial Visa Department.

The packages are also available for passengers transiting Dubai who can use these packages to enjoy the DSS en route to or returning from their destination - or both. However they must be pre-booked, confirmed and fully-paid prior to departure for Dubai.

This year, passengers can choose from 11 hotels, including two beach properties. They are: Seashell Inn Hotel, Sea View Hotel, Marco Polo Hotel, the Pearl Residence, Metropolitan Deira Hotel, Towers Rotana Hotel Dubai, Le Meridien Dubai, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, Hyatt Regency Dubai, Taj Palace Hotel Dubai and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

Prices are tailored to suit every budget - starting at US$75 for three nights at the Seashell Inn Hotel through to US$134 at the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah and US$230 for three nights at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

Prices quoted are per person on twin sharing basis. Single rooms and triple sharing rates are available and most hotels offer special rates of US$20 per child with two adults.
