Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Star Cruises Group has been conferred one of the highest awards in
Malaysia by the King of Malaysia His Majesty the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XII Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Ibni Al-Marhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail during an investiture ceremony held on the occasion of His Majesty's official birthday on 1 June 2002 in
Malaysia.
The "Panglima Setia Mahkota" Federal award which carries the title "Tan Sri" is the second class among the Setia Mahkota (Loyalty to the Crown) order, and one of the highest in order of precedence, is conferred on citizens and captains of industry who have brought honour and contributed meritoriously to the country.
Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay is also the Managing Director of Genting Berhad and Resorts World Berhad and Joint Chief Executive of Asiatic Development Berhad, three public listed companies on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange and Chairman of Genting International PLC, an investment holding company listed on the Luxembourg Stock
Exchange.
