The Union of Finnish Air Transport Workers, IAU, threatens Finnair with
illegal industrial action starting 6 June 2002 at 2 pm Finnish time. The
threat is connected with demands made by IAU, concerning incentive payments.
In case of industrial action, Finnair aims to operate its long haul flights,
leisure flights and most European flights normally on Thursday 6 June 2002.
Most of the cancellations would affect domestic flights scheduled to depart
after 2 pm.
Wednesday evening negotiations with IAU continue on Thursday morning.
Information about a possible industrial action will be published on Thursday
on the Finnair Internet site www.finnair.com, as soon as further details are
available.
