Khun Apisak Phetchsawad, Computer Systems Manager for JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa was recently awarded "Systems Manager of the Year, 2001, Asia/Pacific/Australia" by Martin Bookallil, Marriott International's Regional Director of Information Technology. When Apisak first joined the resort in the pre-opening phase in July 2001, he worked from a series of floor plans showing all the points for computers, telephones, micros stations for restaurants, shops, offices, plus guest rooms, suites and villas. He spent a great deal of time liaising with the construction team and engineers, as well as the suppliers, to turn this into the physical reality it is today - many kilometers of cables
later.
