DTCM ANNOUNCES ‘DUBAI FOR FREE’ PACKAGE TO LURE INCREASED VISITOR TRAFFIC DURING SUMMER

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in its drive to sustain the emirate’s hospitality industry and boost occupancy levels during the relatively lean summer months unveiled the ‘Dubai For Free’ package that will run concurrently with the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2002 from June 20th to August 30th.

“Dubai has matured as a year round destination over the years through a series of sustained promotions since 1995 and we have succeeded in shaping the emirate’s reputation as a year-round destination and not just a winter escape,” said DTCM Manager Heritage Sites and Events, Awadh Al Seghayer, who is also a member of the DSS organizing committee.

He noted that ‘Dubai For Free’ would provide additional momentum to the campaign to promote the emirate. “We have coordinated special rates and deals this summer in conjunction with the hotels and hotel apartments making Dubai Summer Surprises specially attractive this summer,” stressed Mr. Al Seghayer.

Elaborating on the details of the promotion, Mr. Al Seghayer said, “The 58 participating hotels and 11 hotel apartments in Dubai are offering special net rates inclusive of service charge varying between $27 (AED100) and $136 (AED 500) per room night for hotels and between $27 & $204 (AED750) per room night for hotel apartments with special add on bonuses during DSS 2002.”

The participating hotels will offer one night free for every three nights booked and the hotel apartments will offer one night free for every six nights booked. “Only guests booking through travel agencies will be able to avail of these offers,” said Mr. Al Seghayer.

“The additional benefits of this promotion are that the rates remain unchanged for single or double occupancy and two children below the age of 12 can stay free with their parents,” remarked Mr. Al Seghayer.

The complimentary bonuses offered by participating outlets include things as diverse as fruit basket, welcome drink on arrival, daily bus service to the beach, airport transfers, breakfast, free use of health club, free access to nightclub, transfers to DSS activity sites, toys for children below six years on departure, late checkout, 20% discount on food and beverages, 50% discount on spa & beauty treatments, free unlimited access to water theme park and a chance to participate in a weekly raffle for a trip to Disney Paris.
