The Sofitel Ambassador Seoul, has completed an impressive US$7.25 million refurbishment in time for the World Cup 2002 competition next month.

The main aim of the ‘new look’ property is to provide improved and enhanced facilities to give it a decisive advantage in the competitive corporate hotel sector.

The facade has been repainted and a new Porte Cochere canopy has been installed, reflecting a blend of Korean and western design motifs. A new coffee shop, the Cafe de Chef, has opened and features both Korean and International cuisine. It has a contemporary design with very popular private dining rooms available for exclusive parties or functions.

A total of 110 rooms on the executive floors have been completely renovated, and have been designed to incorporate 10 new long stay suites in addition to the new and expanded Sofitel Executive Lounge.

General Manager, Nigel Harper, said that the Sofitel Ambassador Seoul’s new exterior, rooms and Café de Chef would assist in establishing the property as a preferred choice hotel for the domestic, regional and overseas corporate market.

"The new rooms and restaurant will assist in maintaining the hotel’s position in the competitive Seoul hotel environment".

"The hotel will also maintain its dedication to product enhancement with the addition of a remodelled lounge area in the main lobby which is expected to be completed by the end of April. Another three floors of room renovations are scheduled for completion at the end of this year in addition to this first phase of refurbishment,” Mr Harper added.
