The Regent Bangkok is to present music and dance highlights from Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera" on Thursday, July 11, 2002.
4-Tissimo, an acoustic and harmonic vocal group performing at The Lobby Lounge of The Regent Bangkok every Tuesday to Sunday from 8:00 pm to 11:45 pm, will present musical highlights from "The Phantom of the Opera" complemented by a four-course dinner and wine. This summer dinner theatre event begins at 6:30 pm with cocktails in the ballroom. Tickets are priced at Baht 2,000++ per person.
The British composer's "The Phantom of the Opera" has been named the most commercially successful entertainment show of the century, topping all other stage productions and films, including Titanic, Star Wars and ET. The musical has been staged in 91 cities in 15 countries and its Broadway incarnation has been running since 1988. Its soundtrack has sold more than 25 million units.
Based on the classic novel "The Phantom of the Opera" by Gaston Leroux, the musical tells the tragic love story of the hideously deformed Phantom who lurks beneath the stage of the Paris Opera, falls in love with an unattainable woman and seeks revenge for his broken heart. |
