INTER-CONTINENTAL HOTELS LAUNCHES 'WHOLE WORLD HALF OFF' SUMMER PROMOTION

20 May 2002

This summer holidaymakers are being given the chance to stay at some of Six Continents most acclaimed five star hotels - from Paris in France to Zhengzhou in China - at savings of 50% or more.

Inter-Continental is launching its new global summer promotion, called "Whole World Half Off", offering holidaymakers the chance to stay at more than 135 hotels, in over 70 countries, for half the normal price.

Supported by a global US$3 million advertising campaign, the Whole World Half Off promotion is available at participating hotels, seven days a week from 24 May until 8 September 2002 inclusive. Rates begin at US$137 in Singapore and as low as US$63 in China. Properties participating in this special offer include those in Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea in French Polynesia, Wellington in New Zealand to New Delhi in India.

"This is the best deal we've launched yet. We're introducing the 'Whole World Half Off' initiative as a means of stimulating bookings for our hotels, as well as giving guests a true incentive to travel, " says Patrick Imbardelli, Vice-President Marketing, Six Continents Hotels, Asia Pacific. "The savings are available seven days and allow guests to combine a fabulous room with full breakfast for two and enjoy it for half the price. We're supporting the promotion with a global advertising and direct marketing campaign which will run in key Asia Pacific countries such as Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and China".

From the many historic landmark hotels that are as much a part of a city's present as its glorious past - to the striking contemporary hotels, that reflect the vibrant cultures they represent - to superb resorts that are both a tribute and an attribute to the natural beauty surrounding them - Inter-Continental offers exceptional comfort, convenience and service throughout the world.
