About British Airways World Traveller Plus

On October 29, 2000 British Airways introduced a new class of economy travel on the Hong Kong-London route called World Traveller Plus. It follows extensive research, which showed that customers wanted greater comfort and quality at an affordable premium. The new service is a key element of the airline's revolutionary programme of product improvements - its biggest ever yet - that has defined business travel for the 21st century and set new benchmarks for comfort and innovation.

Key elements of World Traveller Plus, which has been supported by a training programme for more than 10,000 staff, includes:

· A dedicated cabin with new interiors to set it apart from World Traveller, in five rows of 2-4-2 configuration offering up to 38 seats on the airline's fleet of B747s and B777 aircraft.

· New wider seat with greater legroom - 38ins pitch compared to 31ins for World Traveller, with fully adjustable headrest, footrest, and lumbar support.

· In-seat power and telephones giving passengers the opportunity to work.

· Double hand baggage allowance - two piece allowance up to 12kg maximum or 9kg per piece, double the World Traveller allowance.

· Seat back entertainment - 12 channels of entertainment offering the latest blockbuster films, comedy, drama and news programmes.

· Opportunities to earn extra Executive Club and Asia Miles points.

· Telephone check-in, dedicated fast baggage drop and the advantage of electronic self- service ticketing at major UK and European airports.
