New Safir Deira Hotel, Dubai offers special opening rates

Travel News Asia 11 October 2002

A special opening offer has been announced by the management team of the new 154-room Safir Deira hotel, running through its ‘soft’ opening period, Ramadan and the Eid holidays.

The simple rate structure has been designed to appeal to both customers and the travel trade, doing away with the usual peak autumn pricing that falls dramatically during Ramadan, only to rise again during the holiday period.

According to general manager, Maagid El Saarany, the three-month offer will establish the Safir Deira as a place for both business and leisure, conveniently located in downtown Dubai: “Our standards of service and the range of facilities will speak for themselves: our initial aim is to get people through the door and this we can achieve with value-for-money pricing.

“We expect to attract a healthy mix of business with about 45 per cent coming from the corporate market, 40 per cent leisure travel and the rest as individual bookings,” he said.

“Similarly, our aim is to win traffic from a range of markets, including both the regional GCC countries as well as Europe, where we will offer tour operators saleable city/beach packages.”

The opening rates, valid until December 25, are Dh250 single/Dh300 double, inclusive of breakfast and taxes, and there will also be special offers on executive rooms on the Club Select floor as well as suites.

During Ramadan, the rooftop pool deck will be turned in to an Arabic meeting point with tent and traditional refreshments every evening, while the Moroccan Al Salamlak will offer authentic cuisine and entertainment.

The five-star standard Safir Deira is located on Muraqqabat Street in Dubai, and facilities include 154 rooms and 14 suites; two meeting and banqueting rooms with capacity for 200; business centre; pool, Jacuzzi, gym and sauna; the Adams Kids Club, and five restaurant and lounge outlets.
