New hotel planned for Laguna Phuket

Travel News Asia 7 September 2004

The Allamanda Vacation Club has adopted a new name, the Laguna Holiday Club (LHC), to accurately represent the Club’s integrated status at Laguna Phuket and reflect its on-going expansion.

The new name also brings about a new office premise at Laguna Phuket’s Canal Village, which officially opened on 3 September to provide a prominent location with spacious presentation areas and inviting outdoor relaxation space. Furthermore, the Bangkok office located at the Banyan Tree Bangkok will take on a similar look to the new Phuket office.

In addition to a selection of luxurious studios, one- or two-bedroom Allamanda Laguna Phuket suites, two-bedroom villas at Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket as well as beautiful suites at Resort and Spa on Bintan Island in Indonesia, LHC has expanded its inventory to include the three-bedroom Sheraton Golf Villas, which are so called for their picturesque Laguna Phuket golf course view. These spacious two-storey villas are fully furnished and equipped with an extensive range of appliances. Villas have beautiful garden terraces with a private pool and a Thai sala – all with stunning views and ample covered parking space for two vehicles.

To cater to the rising popularity of the Club, further expansion plans are underway to build a brand new hotel dedicated exclusively to its members. Rooms will overlook the Laguna Phuket golf course, and be similar in terms of size and space to those at the Allamanda Laguna Phuket, but with an even greater sense of comfort and luxury. This exciting new development is planned to open around the first quarter of 2006.

With the new inventory and expansion, peak period bookings will be even more in demand, so LHC has introduced a new Platinum membership, which guarantees a specific peak week every year. These memberships are only available in the newly acquired Golf Villas and sold as fixed week packages, with only five Platinum memberships in each of these villas.

LHC has also signed its first alliance property – the Dianchi Garden Hotel and Spa in Kunming, China. Under this alliance, members of both clubs can enjoy internal exchange of each other’s accommodation. LHC members can also request accommodation in the Dianchi Hotel by using their existing club points.

Besides this additional property in Kunming, LHC members can exchange their points for a holiday at another destination from over 3,800 RCI destinations in more than 100 countries.
