Doha Bank has been named as a Platinum Sponsor of the Fourth Global Travel and Tourism Summit, taking place in Doha from May 1-3 2004.

"I am very pleased to announce Doha Bank as one of our Platinum Sponsors of the Fourth Global Travel and Tourism Summit," said Mr Al Baker, Qatar Airways' Chief Executive Officer

The Summit, which is being organised by the World Travel and Tourism Council and hosted by Qatar Airways, will attract 700 of the most influential people in the world's tourism industry.

"The support of Doha Bank means that we can continue to showcase Doha as an ideal location for major international events," said Mr Al Baker.

The World Travel and Tourism Summit is being held in the Middle East for the very first time, and its objective is to generate lively discussion about some of the key issues facing the travel and tourism industry.

The Summit will attract industry leaders like Easyjet's founder Stelio Haji-Ioannou, Tui's Chairman Dr Michael Frenzel, the Intercontinental's Chief Executive Richard North, the BBC's Nik Gowing, McKinsey's Managing Director Ian Davis, IATA's Chief Executive Officer Giovanni Bisignani among others.

The agenda will address current economic trends in the industry, world health issues, new management styles, investment opportunities, how the media influences consumers, the 'seamless travel experience', new destinations and new markets.
