Thai Airways to Install Mattresses in First Class

Travel News Asia 7 January 2004

Thai Airways International is to enhance its First Class facilities by installing mattresses for the added comfort of First Class passengers. This will be a pilot project for all THAI flights with a First Class configuration.

To kick off the project, THAI has selected the Bangkok-London route, which is operated using Boeing 747-400 aircraft equipped with 14 First Class seats adjustable to a reclining position of 180 degrees. Among all of THAI's intercontinental routes, the London route has the highest traffic and the greatest percentage of repeat and regular passengers. During the first phase of the pilot project, THAI will introduce mattresses that are locally produced as well as imported to be placed on top of the reclining seats.
