Katie Meyer appointed Vice President of Corporate Communications for Hyatt

Katie Meyer has been appointed Vice President of Corporate Communications for Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Hyatt International Corporation, which collectively operate 214 hotels and resorts around the world.

In this newly created role, Meyer assumes responsibility for the development and execution of the Company’s global public relations strategy and worldwide communications programs.

Prior to joining Hyatt, Meyer served as Vice President of Worldwide Public Relations for London-based Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts, and was responsible for the company’s global PR network and development of corporate and brand-related communications programs. Previously, she was Vice President of Public Relations for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where she began her three-year tenure overseeing the global PR integration of the Sheraton, Westin and Starwood brands during the companies’ merger in 1998.

A seasoned public relations specialist with more than 20 years’ of experience in the hospitality industry, she began her career at The Westin St. Francis in San Francisco and later served as Director of Public Relations for the Century Plaza Hotel and Tower in Los Angeles before being promoted to Director of Corporate PR for Westin Hotels & Resorts.

Meyer graduated from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif. with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. She will reside in Chicago, IL.
