Malaysia Airlines ceases uplift of Chicken Meals on International Flights

Travel News Asia 30 January 2004

Malaysia Airlines has ceased the uplift of chicken meals from countries affected by bird flu. Seafood and vegetarian dishes now replace chicken from its in-flight menus on these flights.

In addition, in anticipation of softening demand for the dish, the airline has also removed chicken meals from all its international flights out of Kuala Lumpur.

Chicken meals will continue to be served on its domestic flights, as Malaysia is not among countries affected by the bird flu. The supply of chicken for Malaysia Airlines domestic flights is sourced locally from Johor and Penang.
