Rihiveli Beach Resort in Maldives signs with Unirez

Travel News Asia 2 September 2004

Rihiveli Beach Resort in the Maldives, a resort managed by HPL Hotels & Resorts, a Singapore-based hospitality management company and a wholly owned subsidiary of main-board listed Hotel Properties Limited, has signed a two-year agreement with Unirez by Pegasus, for Global Distributions Services (GDS) and Internet representation.

With this agreement, Rihiveli is now available for booking on all major GDS and thousands of travel websites starting from September 2004. “By signing with Unirez, we are able to promote our brand through GDS and thousands of Internet sites, which will help strengthen Rihiveli’s profile worldwide and also provide incremental business for the hotel,” said Edmund Nicholas, Vice President – Marketing of HPL Hotels & Resorts.

Located in one of the world’s most popular beach destinations, Rihiveli Beach Resort in the Maldives offers picturesque views of the sea and the sunsets. The simplicity of the island life and its 48 individual thatched-roof bungalows offering homely comforts, furnished with the island’s own wood, call to mind a Robinson Crusoe existence. Rihiveli provides an all-inclusive package whereby all meals and most water sports and land activities, and excursions are provided.

Mr Nicholas added, “With Unirez as its representation service, Rihiveli is positioned to take advantage of Unirez’s strong presence in the global market place and implement strategic rates in response to market conditions and critical needs of the resort.”

With Unirez, travel agents and consumers now have immediate access to Rihiveli’s rates and promotions and are also able to book using the UZ code.
