New Master in Residence at The Balé

The Balé, a luxurious resort in Bali, is to have Michael Hallock as its Master in Residence at The Sanctuary Spa from 31st May until 14th June 2004.

Michael conducts yoga classes, courses and workshops, emphasizing relaxation/meditation and therapeutic yoga practices. Moreover, he is also an experienced body worker and Watsu Therapist qualified in several treatments including Swedish Massage, Thai Massage, Watsu Aquatic, Bodywork, Reiki and the amazing Chi Nei Tsang Taoist internal organ massage.

Michael has been involved with courses and conferences worldwide on yoga, meditation, health and spirituality since 1992. After achieving a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at San Diego State University in 1996, he taught English language in Spain for a period of two years. He then left Europe to study yoga in-depth for three years in India, most notably at the Bihar School of Yoga, the world’s only university dedicated to yogic studies where he was certified as a yoga instructor, and through a rigorous one-year residential training, received his Diploma in Advanced Yogic Studies.

The yogic studies covered Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation, Shatkarma cleansing and complete knowledge of the pure essence of Yoga. From India, he ventured to Thailand and began his healing work in some of the countries better known resorts and spas.

Within his extensive background he learnt: Swedish massage with International Professional School of Bodywork, Reiki Initiation with Reiki Master Giovanni, Watsu with Elaine Marie, Waterdance with Richard Bock of Harbin Hotsprings, Chi Nei Tsang at Mantak Chia’s International Healing Tao, and Thai Massage at International Society of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage.

Michael is now at The Balé to introduce those therapies to in house guests, non-residents and staff members always seeking ideal balance of body, mind and spirit in line with Sanctuary Resort’s philosophy.
