Air France increases Fuel Surcharge

Travel News Asia 25 August 2004

Due to the steep rise in oil prices, Air France has increased its fuel surcharge by 2 euros per flight leg on domestic services and by 3 euros per leg on medium-haul services (Europe and North Africa).

On long-haul routes, where fuel accounts for a larger expense item, the surcharge will increase by 12 euros per flight leg, with the exception of flights to and from French Overseas Departments (Cayenne, Fort-de-France, Pointe--Pitre, Runion) where it will amount to 10 euros per leg.

The airline stated that this increase, paid on all tickets issued since 24 August 2004, will be dropped as soon as the crude price returns to below 35 dollars over 30 consecutive days.
