Concorde Air Tickets opens Canberra Office

Travel News Asia 24 August 2004

Air Tickets, the airline ticket wholesaling arm of Concorde International Travel, has opened a new office in Canberra, Australia, in response to strong industry demand.

“Concorde’s outstanding service levels are now available throughout the ACT, ensuring that agents not only have fast and easy access to air fares through our multi award winning SmartFares database, but fast and easy delivery of completed ticketing from a local office,” said Bernard Hughes, State Manager NSW/ACT.

“Travel agents love the convenience of SmartFares, but until now their tickets have been produced in Sydney,” said Mr Hughes. “Effective immediately, ACT-based agents can order and receive airline tickets on the same day, or early the following day through our new Canberra office.”

Air Tickets in Canberra operates as a full service office which grades, prints and dispatches tickets directly to travel agents. To ensure a seamless transition for agents, current processes for requesting a quote or a ticket will not change.

Air Tickets in Canberra is headed by former Singapore Airlines Senior Ticket Officer Melanie Mertsoy, who has been appointed to the role of Team Leader. Also joining Air Tickets in the national capital is Louina Manuatu, a graduate in Tourism Operations from the Canberra Institute of Technology.
