Sofitel signs Global Air Miles Deal with Thai Airways

Travel News Asia 19 March 2004

Accors prestige hotel brand, Sofitel, has signed a global frequent flyer relationship with Thai Airways International.

Thai Airways has had an agreement with Accors hotels in Asia Pacific for a number of years, but under this new agreement, Royal Orchid Plus members will now receive Air Miles at over 180 Sofitel hotels located in 52 countries worldwide.

To celebrate the launch of the worldwide programme, guests staying at Sofitel hotels in Europe, Australia and the United States will earn a total of 2,004 miles for each stay from now until 31 May. Travellers heading to the United Kingdom can enjoy an extended bonus at Sofitel St James London, which will offer the 2,004 bonus miles through 31 August.

In addition, guests staying in Sofitel hotels around Asia will earn double miles (1,000 miles per stay until 31 May). From 1 June, guests will earn 500 miles for stays throughout the entire global Sofitel network.

Sofitels first global partnership was established with Air France (Frequence Plus) in 1998, followed by Qantas (Frequent Flyer) and Cathay Pacific (Asia Miles) in 1999.
