Woodside Energy first in Asia Pacific with e-Travel

Travel News Asia 12 March 2004

e-Travel, the e-commerce unit of Amadeus, today announced the successful implementation of SAP Travel Management (SAP TM) at Woodside Energy (Woodside), the first corporation to adopt the sophisticated solution in Asia Pacific. The agreement is expected to deliver the energy giant significant savings on direct and indirect travel costs.

SAP TM facilitates complete self-service online travel booking and integration with policy control, management reporting and expense management, a key factor in Woodside's decision. By facilitating bookings online, the solution can save corporations up to 60 percent of the traditional cost of processing and expensing of travel bookings, and a further 10 to 15 percent reduction in the cost of travel through the implementation of corporate travel policies and the selection of preferred suppliers.

Mr Russell Moyle, Business Services Manager Logistics, Woodside Energy said, "As high consumers of business travel, Woodside wanted a fully integrated travel management solution that allowed staff to easily plan and book their travel whilst ensuring company travel policy was adhered to." He added, "We are already seeing the benefits of this new solution."

Mr David Brett, President, Amadeus Asia Pacific, said, "Corporations in the region are now demanding a new standard in complete travel management solutions. These next generation solutions, like SAP TM, must ensure policy compliance, reduce costs and integrate seamlessly with the existing software systems."

e-Travel partnered with global business software company SAP AG to develop SAP TM, a fully integrated, end to end travel management solution for corporations. With this agreement Woodside joins customers in more than 90 countries worldwide, including corporations such as Daimler Chrysler and Robert Bosch GmbH, utilising the e-Travel suite of solutions.
