InterContinental Hotels Group makes a deal for Business Travel Agents

Travel News Asia 28 July 2003

Business Travel Agents in Australia and New Zealand have been given the preferred treatment by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), which is offering a range of special accommodation discounts following an extensive educational campaign with Travel Management Companies in the region.

Business Travel Agents who book at participating InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Parkroyal and Centra hotels in Australia and New Zealand before 31 August 2003 will receive up to $40 off contracted consortia rates at participating hotels.

The special Business Travel Agent deal follows IHG's extensive educational campaign among bookers of discretionary travel across Australia, which involved personal visits to over 1,600 sellers to raise awareness of the properties and the special winter discounts across IHG's portfolio.

"Following the consolidation of IHG's Australia and New Zealand sales organisation, we have paid special attention to Business Travel Agents from within our preferred Travel Management Partners in order to educate them on the best ways to work with our brands," said InterContinental Hotels Group Director of Sales and Marketing - Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific, Jolyon Bulley.
