Virgin Clubhouse Heathrow to offer passengers even more treats

Travel News Asia 21 October 2003

Virgin Atlantic's already innovative Clubhouse at Heathrow Airport is about to add the following range of exciting new initiatives during November and December.

Moët & Chandon Vintage Champagne tastings

Joelle Marti-Baron, sommelier at London's Great Eastern Hotel, will be guiding Virgin Atlantic passengers through the joys of Moët & Chandon Vintage Champagnes from 1996, 1998 and 1990. In addition passengers will be able to join the Moët & Chandon Vintage Club, which keeps them exclusively up to date with any developments with the vintages. Joelle will be at the Clubhouse between 12:30 and 19:30 on October 24, November 7, November 21, December 5 and December 12.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts

These cult brand US doughnuts will be available in the Clubhouse everyday from November 1. Krispy Kreme have just launched in the UK - these original glazed treats are only available in one other location in the UK where people have been queuing up to sample them.

Thomas Pink

A goldfish bowl filled with Thomas Pink cuff knots in Virgin Atlantic colours will be in the Clubhouse from 1st November. Virgin Atlantic passengers are invited to choose a pair with compliments from Thomas Pink and will also be offered an exclusive unique service - they can order shirts to be delivered to the Clubhouse or Revivals arrivals lounge direct from the Thomas Pink store in Terminal 3. A range of designs will be featured on a 'shirt menu card' from which they can make their selection.

Square Pie

These new hand held pies from London's leading gourmet pie producer 'Square Pie' will be available in the Clubhouse as part of the evening menu. The pies are hand made using only the finest ingredients, free range meats and have no artificial flavours or preservatives. The two Square Pies presently featuring on the menu are Steak and Mushroom or Tomato and Chick Pea.

Burberry Brit

From November free samples of Burberry Brit, a new fragrance for women, will be available in the Clubhouse. Passengers can also purchase the fragrance exclusively through Retail Therapy, Virgin Atlantic's inflight shopping magazine.

Tanqueray and Tanqueray No. Ten

Featuring in the Virgin Clubhouse Heathrow for November and December, there will be a Tanqueray cocktail service. This service will focus on two drinks, Tanqueray and Tonic and Tanqueray No. Ten Martinis, which are mixed with Tanqueray No.Ten, the award-winning gin that is only available in limited places in the UK. The cocktail servers are specially trained to mix the perfect G&T and Martinis. Extrovert and entertaining, they are knowledgeable about the product and the quadruple distillation process that gives it its exceptional quality. The service will be in the Clubhouse from14:00 to 21:00 Thursday to Monday.

Eye Toy

The Sony Eye Toy is already available in the Gatwick Clubhouse and is soon to be installed in the Heathrow Clubhouse from October 28. It projects you into a PS2 game so you see your own face on the screen via a small camera.
