SWISS temporarily suspends two services to Cairo until further notice

Travel News Asia 18 March 2003

As a result of a sharp drop in demand, SWISS has decided to suspend two of the six-weekly connections to Cairo. This decision becomes effective on March 20, 2003 and, as things stand, could last until mid-April 2003.

The following seven connections are affected by these temporary measures:

Mondays : LX 236/7 Zurich –Cairo – Zurich on March 31, April 7 and 14.

Thursdays : LX236/7 Zurich – Cairo – Zurich on March 20 and 27, as well as April 3 and 10. The reservation situation will permit the operation of six flights weekly from mid-April onwards.

The four remaining services (Wednesday Friday, Saturday and Sunday) will be operated according to the timetable.

SWISS has said it is carefully monitoring the developments in the Near and Middle East.
