Thai Airways International adds New Destinations to Winter Schedule 2003/2004

Thai Airways International is adding three new destinations, namely Chennai in India, Guilin in China, and Luang Prabang in Laos, to its international routenet for its winter schedule starting from 26 October 2003 to 27 March 2004. Routes and frequencies will also be increased for international and domestic flights.

Mr. Kanok Abhiradee, THAIs President, said that the changes are being implemented to cater to the growing demand in trade and investment as well as among businessmen and tourists.

The following routes will have increased frequencies: Bangkok-London v.v., Bangkok-Frankfurt v.v., Bangkok-Copenhagen vv, Bangkok-Seoul v.v., Bangkok-Jakarta v.v., Bangkok-Colombo v.v., and Bangkok-Krabi v.v. This is due to the increasing number of passengers as well as delivery of two new Boeing 747-400 aircraft in October 2003. The winter schedule begins 26 October 2003 until 27 March 2004.

New Destinations

* Bangkok-Chennai-Dubai v.v.: with 4 flights a week every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, utilising Airbus 330-300 aircraft.

* Bangkok-Guilin-Chiang Mai-Bangkok: with 2 flights a week every Wednesday, and Saturday, utilising Boeing 737-400 aircraft (as of 21 January 2004).

* Bangkok-Luang Prabang v.v: with 3 flights a week every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, utilising ATR 72 aircraft. (Flight operations begin on 29 November 2003 onwards.)

New Routes

* Sydney-Melbourne-Phuket-Bangkok: with 3 flights a week every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, utlising Boeing 747-400

* Tokyo-Chiang Mai-Bangkok: with 3 flights a week every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday utilising the Boeing 777-200 aircraft.

* Osaka-Phuket-Bangkok: with 3 flights a week every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday utilising 300-600 aircraft.

* Taipei-Hong Kong-Chiang Mai-Bangkok: with 3 flights a week every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday utilising Airbus 330-300 aircraft.

* Chiang Mai-Rangoon: with 4 flights a week every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, utilising ATR 72 aircraft. (Flight operations begin on 30 November 2003 onwards.)

Increased Frequencies

* Bangkok-London v.v.: with 1 additional flight at 5 daytime flights per week, or a total of 12 flights per week.

* Bangkok-Frankfurt v.v.: with 1 additional flight at 5 daytime flights per week, or a total of 12 flights per week.

* Bangkok-Copenhagen v.v.: with 1 additional flight at 6 flights per week.

* Bangkok-Seoul v.v.: with 2 additional flights at 6 daytime flights per week or total of 27 weekly flights.

* Bangkok-Jakarta v.v: with 2 additional flights at 7 flights per week.

* Bangkok-Colombo v.v.: with 1 additional flight at 4 flights per week.

* Bangkok-Krabi v.v.: with 1 additional flight at 4 daily flights or 28 weekly flights.

All Thai's other routes will remain the same.
