Accor opens All-Suite Resort Hotel in Beijing

Travel News Asia 17 December 2003

Hot on the heels of announcing two new properties for the Thai city of Pattaya, Accor today added another property to its portfolio with the opening of the Novotel Oasis, an all-suite resort hotel in Beijing, China.

The low-rise, 154-suite hotel gives guests a choice of comfortable one-bedroom or two-bedroom suites measuring 60sqm and 91sqm respectively, ideal for families on a weekend getaway or meeting planners looking for team-building opportunities.

It is located only 30 kilometres from Tiananmen Square and 25 kilometres from Beijing International Airport. The hotel’s unique layout blends effortlessly with the adjacent Yan Resort area on the eastern side of the city, a fast developing region near the Tongzhou District of Beijing.

Accor Senior Vice President – Asia, Reggie Shiu, said Novotel Oasis Beijing is ideally positioned for corporate retreats and meetings supported by outstanding recreational facilities.

“Novotel Oasis Beijing will appeal to companies looking to arrange meetings outside the capital to offer management and staff a break from the city. Families in Beijing can also take advantage of the resort on weekends and holidays as it is just a short drive along excellent motorways.”

The hotel’s main ballroom offers 450sqm of space - divisible into three rooms - that can handle 320 people theatre style and 240 guests for banquets. A pre-function area has a private entrance and VIP lounge, while seven additional break out rooms can accommodate between 18 to 99 people for smaller gatherings.

Leisure facilities include three spacious indoor swimming pools with Poolside Snack Bar, a lavish KTV with 19 private rooms, and Spa Senso, Beijing’s most luxurious European-style spa. Spa Senso’s spacious design (1,500sqm) offers 20 private Jacuzzi suites for ladies and five private Jacuzzi massage suites for gents. An 18-hole championship golf course, Hua Tong International, is also adjacent to the hotel.

In addition Novotel Oasis Beijing features two restaurants, Le Café specialising in western cuisine and Asian signature dishes and Jin Garden Chinese Restaurant a unique fusion of Cantonese, northern Chinese and Tan Jia Cuisine. There is also a Lobby Lounge and exclusive Cigar Bar on the third floor.

In April 2004 Novotel Oasis Beijing will officially open with the completion of ‘The Clubhouse’, a 10,000sqm recreational sports complex that will be one of the finest facilities of its kind in the capital.

The Clubhouse will feature two floors of athletic and leisure facilities with a retractable roof that opens during temperate spring and fall months or closes during bad weather. Inside there will be two tennis courts, a full-court basketball court, badminton courts, table tennis and a modern fitness centre. The Clubhouse will be home to the Dolfi Club, Novotel’s dedicated fun centre for children up to 12 years old.
