Jan Heesbeen Appointed Country Director of Marketing, Jordan, with Marriott International

Mr. Jan Heesbeen has been appointed Country Director of Marketing - Jordan for Marriott International, based at the Amman Marriott Hotel.

A native of Amsterdam, Holland, Jan a seasoned professional brings a wealth of experience and talent to his new position in a career spanning a total of 26 years, the last 20 with Marriott International.

Jan said he is excited to return to the region, "The Marriott Jordan Valley Resort and Spa is an exceptional resort, uniquely located on the east shore of the Dead Sea 400 meters below sea level - the lowest point of earth, and 12 km from the Christian Baptism site."

The world class spa at the hotel has 27 treatment rooms and offers exquisite treatments including Dead Sea salt and mud treatments.

Jan's most recent position was Regional Director of Marketing, Asia Pacific, including set up and pre-opening for Marriott Vacation Club International's first Asian property, Marriott Phuket Beach Club, which is fully integrated with the JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa.

He also opened the JW Marriott Bangkok Hotel in 1997 and JW Marriott Dubai Hotel in 1993, as Director of Marketing. Previously, he served as Director of Marketing at the Riyadh Marriott Hotel, Saudi Arabia, Amman Marriott Hotel, Jordan and as Director of Sales at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel in The Netherlands.
